David was very accommodating when I wanted to view the flat; I only asked for a viewing on the day, and David was kind enough stay late so that I could visit after work.
The flat met all of my flatmate and I’s needs: two rooms, two bathrooms, a modern living area, additional storage and lots of space throughout the flat. David explained everything about living in the building and what the other tenants are like. Overall his open and friendly approach was a big factor in me feeling so positive about the flat. A few days later my friend also visited and we agreed on that day that we wanted to take the flat.
Throughout the reference checks, which were carried out by a third party, we were kept up to date with the progress of our checks. David did his best to speed the process along as I was keen to move in at the end of the month (1+ weeks after the previous tenants moved out). In the end it did still take a little longer than I had hoped, but moving in was a smooth process and the flat was in excellent condition, the rooms and kitchen having been well cleaned, the air purified and paint refreshed in places.
Compared to other new builds in the city centre this flat feels ‘solid’. It is very soundproof, including the front door – meaning that my flatmate and I do not hear people in the outside corridor or distract each other when we are in our respective rooms. The other great thing is the useful and stylish furniture and appliances provided, including a washer-dryer, double bed, dining table and chairs, and sofa. The gate system for the car park feels secure and we appreciate that the car park is always well lit, which is especially important in autumn and winter months.
Since living in the flat we have not had any issues, but know that David and Linda are available to if we need any advice or support for our flat. Linda is very good at keeping tenants aware of changes or problems in the building, and clearly cares about the safety and wellbeing of us all. The reception area always smells amazing, is clean and tidy, and looks impressive, which makes the building nice to come home to and leaves a lasting impression on visitors!
Overall, I am so pleased to have found this place and think that it’s fantastic to be able to live in such a great location, have so much space and receive the level of service that we do, all for the price we pay, which is lower than many other city centre places offering less.
Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:
I like how close it is to Arena Birmingham and more importantly Brindleyplace – giving us access to restaurants, bars and lovely canal views, just minutes away. Broad Street is just up the road, the rest of city centre is easy to get to (via canal walks) and Tesco is also accessible on foot.
The only thing that I don’t like as much is that the building back on the Snow Hill railway line. Luckily it has significantly less traffic than the New Street line, but it can be noisy when windows are open at night. However, no secret was made as it was clear at the time of the visit, so I signed for the flat fully conscious of the train line.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
I wish I had put more thought in to the hours at which the trains run (until late, then start up early in the morning).
The other thing is that there is limited space in the car park, so it is a question of luck if you can get a space parallel to getting a flat.
