Greenwich Peninsula Reviews “Fantastic quality build. Very modern feel to the apartment with nice touches, such as Siemens appliances, underfloor heating, Villeroy & Boch sanitary installations etc. Efficient concierge service (never had a package rejected and always get a text reminding me to collect shipments from the office). Typical residents’ gym that is kept clean and generally well-looked after. Another ‘cool’ feature of the development is laundry lockers, where you can leave your clothes to be collected and delivered back by a dry cleaner.”  Verified Resident, The Norton

A great living experience

The Upper Riverside development has everything you need in one place. It bears two well-equipped and well-staffed gym areas, inclusive of a pool and steam room. This is great for a daily detox. I’ve also really enjoyed the amenities such as the multimedia room where I’ve been able to enjoy nights in with friends and family. The buildings are well managed with 24-hour concierge assistance and the life-saving Hub service.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Greenwich Peninsula is the perfect location. You have a real sense of a community, a food and shopping outlet on your doorstep and some of London’a best landmarks just a short walk away.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Prior to moving in, I wish I had known more about parking alternatives for family and friends on event days at the O2 as it has been quite difficult to facilitate this at times.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building management staff have been quite responsive to problems or issues which I’ve raised. They have been prompt and helpful where able.

When you live in Greenwich next to the river and the Greenwich Ecology Park it doesn’t feel like full on city living and instead I have the best of both worlds.

I rented in Greenwich Millennium Village and loved the area so decided to pool resources with my girlfriend and purchase a one-bed flat in 2015. We had been to launch events before and underestimated demand so we missed out – this time we got there early and queued for hours to reserve out flat! The flat has been great as my neighbours in are all very friendly and we often chat in the lifts.

When you live in Greenwich next to the river and the Greenwich Ecology Park it doesn’t feel like full on city living and instead I have the best of both worlds. My commute is easy which was important to me as I can walk and avoid the joys of rush hour! Buses are on my doorstep and the convenience to the Jubilee line, and the ability to get anywhere in London quickly.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I don’t know what it is like post brexit but the peninsula is popular

A year in building 4

Facilities are okay. The booking for the cinema room is hopeless and it is always booked out weeks in advance. The limit of two dates/household needs to be enforced. The pool is not big enough for 5 buildings now. The reception area with coffee machine is nice in B4. the B4 gym is great. It would be nice to have some loungers on the B4 deck and for this to be open not having to book. I think the flats themselves are small for the money we pay. The paint on the walls marks very easily and some of the furniture is cheap in quality. The sofa was aged in a week. I do like the colours and the overall design and layout of the flat but it could be more hard wearing against wear and tear. Property management has been poor at times with little communication on some key issues. The Hub roll out was a bit of a disaster. Waited a year for bedside lamps for these not to match our decor at all (blue walls, blue bedside tables, pink bed frame). We have heard the check out process is ruthless.
However we have been happy here so far and look forward to seeing how the area improves post covid.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I think there could be a lot more local to us. We have heard great companies have been turned away such as Gail’s and Waitrose which would have added so much to our local area. Ardoa is great but not enough – more needs to be added to bring more residents and visitors to the area. Transport links are good but parking could be more affordable and open to residents and restricted guests. Difficult to comment on noise and anti social behaviour as the o2 has been closed since moving in

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

What the furniture would be like, how long it would take to arrive. How we can book the facilities and how this is made fair amongst residents of all buildings. How expensive and difficult parking is for residents.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Reasonably – as stated before they came round to repair our window and our door handle which fell off. No other issues been raised really.

So much has happened

We moved here over 15 years ago and there were only a few of us to start and we formed a tight-knit community and what is incredible that all these years later, many of those people are still living here and enjoying the changes constantly happening around us. We love this sense of change and evolvement that is happening and have watched the dome turn from a white elephant to The O2. It isn’t just developments and restaurants – we’ve got parks and cultural spaces just a short stroll from my apartment and the river on the doorstep. The river is always active – either small commercial boats, yachts or people rowing.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I could never have predicted what was to come!
