A beautiful place to live

Duet is a beautiful, modern building that is both aesthetically pleasing and really homely. There is plenty of space across the building to relax/meet with friends outside of your apartment. The facilities are brilliant and are all well worth the money. Surprise treats every so often really make the building feel homely. The staff are always on hand to help you out with anything and always have a cherry disposition.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Duet is directly opposite both a tram & bus stop with great links to Manchester/other areas. It is a short walk to Media City which has a brilliant range of bars and restaurants. It is a great area to go for walks in. The area always feels safe and is perfectly quiet during the day and and night.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The staff really are brilliant and such a warm presence in the building, the communication is super simple when you have any sort of issue.

What is the best feature of your home:

The huge amounts of space/facilities available across the building for all needs

An excellent place to live

Positives: really well decorated; all fixtures and fittings are there. The staff are really friendly. I had a few teething problems moving it but it got fixed quickly through the app. Deliveries are easy because we have lockers for them. I have used the gym once and it’s really good and has everything you need. The niggles I have had are we haven’t had a water meter fitted.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I like how close we are to the tram stop. We are 5-10 mins away from town. There is, however, a lack of local shops and bars.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Bathroom storage is lacking . The flats are a bit hot.

The Keel has been a safe home for me for nearly six years.

The Keel has been a safe home for me for nearly six years. I have been happy during this time. The staff have always been helpful and kind and ready to answer any concerns and needs. Been extremely good over the last twelve months when people have needed the support especially. The building is a lovely building and it’s all very clean and up to date. Any maintenance required is properly carried out and they take into account any Pacific requirements you need. The area is lovely it’s close to the Albert dock and the city centre all walking distance and the walk is lovely alongside the Mersey. There are good shops close by for emergency pick ups. There could be maybe thought of doing a supermarket in the area for I think it would be welcomed. Overall it’s a lovely place to live, anyone on their own would feel safe or anyone out of the city would feel welcomed.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Close to the Albert dock which has beautiful restaurants and the wonderful museums. Nice to walk and take in the surroundings. Close to Liverpool one for shops and again lovely restaurants or to sit and enjoy time out to have a coffee.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Really lovely community, helpful and very friendly especially more so in these times we are living.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes always responded quickly and politely to any requirements. Have given full notice of required maintenance work which has had to be carried out. Understood if I have had to work from home and changed times to suit my needs required by my job.

Premium Living

I had seen all the pictures and videos, read all the reviews before moving in here, but when I arrived, at the main lobby, I was immediately impressed by the fact that it was even better than what I anticipated. Upon entering the reception lobby you can see how well decorated the space is with thoughtful and beautiful decor, and reminded me of a beautiful hotel lobby. I was already excited to be living here. Moving in was simple and easy with building management being extremely friendly and helpful with any queries I had. The flats are well kitted out with beautiful and quality furnishings, and appliances are of good quality as well. Although, I would’ve liked more built-in storage space in the apartments, such as under-bed storage or mirror cabinets on the bathroom. Having a balcony was important to us when we were looking at properties to rent, not only does Vox have balconies, they are spacious as well, which means you can set up outdoor chairs on your balcony and enjoy the sunset views.

The social spaces like the beautiful rooftop garden, resident’s lounge (which is also very well decorated and provides spaces to relax as well as to get work done) and the gym with gorgeous views of the Manchester skyline, adds to the experience living in Vox.

Something that I am really impressed with is the signature fragrance Vox uses in their communal areas (like most hotels do!). Walk through the lobby or enter the lift and you will be greeted by this relaxing fragrance which is such a nice touch and elevates the experience.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Although there aren’t any notable restaurants and bars in the immediate locality, the tram stop is so close to the property, getting into the city centre is less than 10 minutes, so you don’t really miss out on anything. Having a Co-op in the building is so convenient for those last minute shop runs.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I can’t think of any tips to share at the moment but overall, so far, I am enjoying living at Vox

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I had so many questions after moving in about how to set up the utility bills for example and the team were very helpful and patient explaining the process making everything so much easier. Email queries are also handled quickly. Just knowing that you can pop by reception anytime you need to, is so helpful.

Fantastic first impressions, but the lived-in experience is disappointing

The Trilogy is an excellent place to live at first glance: it is modern, innovative and well-equipped with a gym, delivery lockers, 24/7 concierge and well-furnished communal areas. These certainly draw you in on first impressions. But after 9 months of living here, I’m a bit underwhelmed: light and socket fittings are cheap and sloppily installed, with spotlights misaligned or not flush to the ceiling. The internet is provided by a terrible ISP – I experience regular dropouts whether connected to WiFi or ethernet – with no option to switch. Some of the furniture in my fully-furnished apartment is more trendy office than comfortable home, especially the cheap, uncomfortable, small sofa. But worst of all is the building’s thermal performance. Even my north-facing apartment becomes stiflingly hot in the summer months, to the point where fans and the MVHR system cannot provide adequate cooling. The corridors have south-facing floor-to-ceiling windows which turn these areas into veritable greenhouses, and the heat has nowhere to go but into the adjoining apartments. There’s no good reason why a modern development should have such issues with heat, even without full air conditioning. I’ll have to bear another summer here due to the pandemic, but I won’t be sticking around for a third. The building management, which is a real stand-out positive here, are aware of this issue and provided fans to numerous apartments, but I think they should explore more creative solutions.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I like the proximity to Cornbrook tram stop, and the city centre is a walkable distance, but the area consists of lots of low-grade industrial areas although these are undergoing redevelopment

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

View an apartment in summer, some may be cooler than others.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I had a leaky washing machine which was resolved within 24 hours.
