We discover the six UK Build to Rent operators rated highest by their tenants. Verified reviews from HomeViews during 2020 reveal that these six BTR landlords scored above average on all four management-specific questions we ask.
Build to Rent is a growing sector in the UK. Figures for Q4 2019 showed that there were over 152,000 BTR homes either completed, under construction or in planning (BPF/Savills). So which Build to Rent operators are performing the best? Where should the industry turn for best practice?
2020 National Build to Rent Report
The HomeViews 2020 National Build to Rent Report revealed the six BTR operators with the top scores across management and landlord questions. These covered the following:
- Would you recommend your landlord?
- Building Management score
- Customer Service score
- Repairs and Maintenance score
The report found that scores for recommending landlords were generally high for BTR developments, at 92%. The top six we’ve selected achieved a remarkable 96%. The 4.28 average Building Management score across the 84 developments surveyed was beaten by the top six, who achieved an average of 4.62.
Customer service averaged at 4.31 for all the developments but the top six achieved a score of 4.64. Lastly, repairs and maintenance was a crucial area for tenants that saw the average drop to 3.92. However, our six operators comfortably outperformed that with an average of 4.46.
