Resident ratings underpin new G15 housing association benchmark

HomeViews has created a new performance benchmark for housing associations that uses verified resident ratings across all G15 members. As the UK’s only dedicated residential review platform, we have over 36,000 reviews for properties across the UK, giving a unique insight into how residents experience their homes.

The new HomeViews benchmarks allows housing associations to accurately measure their performance against G15 members in the UK, as well as the wider Shared Ownership market. HomeViews collects 20+ data points from residents and this enables us to create a number of unique benchmarks for the industry.

These reflect both the resident’s buying or renting experience, and their lived experience.

Benchmarks for HomeViews review criteria include:

  • A development’s overall Star Rating
  • Value, Design, Location, Facilities and Management review ratings
  • Owner/Shared Owner-specific ratings:
    • Customer service
    • Delivery timetable
    • Build quality
    • Aftersales care
  • BTR tenant-specific ratings:
    • % who would recommend their landlord
    • Customer service
    • Repairs and maintenance
    • Additional services
  • Up to 3 of the sustainable building features most important to the reviewer

Owner / Shared Owner / Private Tenant metrics

Housing associations partnering with HomeViews can now access all this review data for their own developments and average portfolio benchmarks. Shared Owner benchmarks are also available for developments across the UK, along with BTS and BTR benchmarks.

HomeViews’ data and benchmarks can be segmented into averages for each resident type – owners, shared owners and private tenants. This means housing associations can easily track their performance across a range of residents and compare with all types of competitors.

L&Q, Network Homes and Southern Housing Group have all recently joined HomeViews as industry partners, gaining unparalleled access to resident insights and benchmarking across their portfolios, as well as marketing rights.

HomeViews gives all its partners easy access to their review data and industry benchmarks through a Partner Portal and dashboard. Partners are able to log in and easily view and filter live information drawn from their resident reviews.

HomeViews Partner Portal

The HomeViews Partner Portal dashboard lets users access this full range of performance metrics, including the ability to:

Filter reviews and ratings by development, resident age, resident type and date range

Gain insights into every segment of your resident population. Easily filter and view your reviews and ratings for different buildings and by resident age, resident type (owner / shared owner / private tenant) and by date range.

Measure developments’ performance over time and against industry benchmarks

See how residents rate your buildings over time, giving you insights into the impact of changes you make, as well as external factors like lockdowns or economic shifts. Industry benchmarks for all metrics on the portal currently include the ability to select national shared owners, with the G15 benchmarks currently only available to partners in their individual reports (part of the HomeViews partnership package – find out more here.)

Search for keywords in reviews to find out what matters most to your residents

Identify key issues in your reviews with the keyword search tool. Use these to quickly resolve problems and source positive feedback to give to team members and use in your marketing.

Sort reviews by rating and key themes to quickly identify resident snippets to use in marketing campaigns

Quickly find your most positive reviews around specific topics. Generate quotes for powerful third-party validation in your marketing.

Understand what sustainability features matter most to residents

We ask reviewers which three sustainable building features are most important to them when choosing a new home. See how your residents respond and steer your sustainability strategies / related marketing activities accordingly.

Manage and respond to your resident reviews in one place

The Partner Portal helps you to manage your resident reviews to make sure they are being responded to effectively. Studies show that consumers value companies that respond to their reviews – even negative ones.

HomeViews provides verified resident reviews of the UK’s housing developments. We’re working with developers, house builders, operators, housing associations and the Government to recognise high performers and help improve standards in the built environment.
