Why live in Greenwich?

Greenwich is routinely among the most popular places to live in London because of its appealing mix of beauty and convenience. Its outstanding green spaces – especially those tied to the ‘riverside culture’ give it a relaxing, tranquil and welcoming environment. At the same time, it’s close enough to Canary Wharf and other London hotspots to feel part of the action.

This winning combination makes Greenwich suitable for young professionals, families and those who just want a peaceful existence close (but not too close) to the heart of the capital. For families, there’s an excellent selection of primary and secondary schools ranked ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’. Plus, the parks, green spaces and riverside walks are a major boon for entertaining children and family days out.

If you’re a history buff, Greenwich will also appeal. You can enjoy the unparalleled works of the masterful architect Christopher Wren if you head to the Old Royal Naval College. Here you can explore 500 years of British naval history in a sublime and storied setting. There’s also the chance to step aboard the Cutty Sark, the celebrated historic sailing ship and the fastest of its time. Greenwich is also home to the Royal Observatory, the keeper of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
