Transport in Brixton

The centre of Brixton has both an Underground and a mainline rail station. Brixton Underground station provides Victoria Line services, with Central London and the West End just a few stops away. Meanwhile, the mainline station offers southeastern rail services, with trains heading in the direction of London Victoria and towards Bromley and Orpington. The area also benefits from excellent bus services. The main road running through Brixton is the A23. This joins with the A3 to make Central London easily accessible by car. In the other direction, the A23 offers easy access towards the M25 and Gatwick Airport.

What are property prices like in Brixton?

Brixton’s status as a perennial ‘up-and-coming’ neighbourhood is reflected in its constantly increasing property prices. The area does, however, still offer prices below the London average. According to Zoopla, Brixton’s average property price was £619,000 in the 12 months to August 2023. This compares favourably to a London average of £724,000. While flats in Brixton are available for around £467,000, a terraced house costs more than double, at an average of £969,000.
