London developments to watch

It’s been a big year for new residential developments in London. On HomeViews, we list properties that are still in construction so you can see what’s coming soon. Most of these developments are being built and there are no residents in yet, so we recommend reading reviews from residents in properties by the same developer to get an idea of what to expect. Looking at buildings in construction gives you the opportunity to consider buying off plan, or to join a waiting list for a Build to Rent scheme. Many properties listed on the site are being completed in phases, but there’s a wealth of info from residents who’ve already moved in.

This week, we’ve rounded up some in-construction properties to keep your eye on…

Union Wharf, Essential Living

Union Wharf development

Perfect for: Those looking to rent with an active community

Union Wharf is the latest development from Build to Rent pioneer, Essential Living. Made up of two towers overlooking peaceful Deptford Creek, the property will feature one to three-bedroom apartments in a best-of-both-worlds setting in leafy Greenwich. Union Wharf’s Zone 2 location is great news for commuters, and shared facilities will include a rooftop terrace and a residents’ gym.

Living at Berkshire House is great – amazing stylish place to socialise with friends or other residents thanks to the spacious communal space on the top floor. The thing I like the most about this is the fact that although my partner and I live in a studio, we feel like there is so much more to it than just a few squared meters, thanks to these spaces which make the place so special.” – Mireia, verified resident at Essential Living’s Berkshire House

Wembley Parade, Anthology

Perfect for: First-time buyers

Wembley Parade is a brand-new property from Anthology. Part of Wembley’s emerging urban neighbourhood, it’s close to the station and the area’s spectacular sporting and entertainment venues, Wembley Stadium and The SSE Arena. One, two and three-bedroom homes are on offer here – all design-led and contemporary. HomeViews reviewers are praising the service and quality of Anthology apartments, with first-time buyers surprised by the smooth sailing of the process…

Our last experience of buying a new home was appalling. Our experience with Anthology couldn’t have been more different. The team were fantastic from start to finish. 10 out of 10 in our opinion. Sincere thanks to everyone at Anthology. Would certainly consider buying at your other developments.” – AdamP, verified resident at Anthology’s Deptford Foundry

White City Living, St James

Perfect for: Luxury living

Berkeley Homes is well-known for its stylish, quality new-builds, and this super-slick development from its St James division is no different. It’s set in the heart of West London – part of the transformation of the White City opportunity area – and will offer luxury suites, apartments and penthouses plus a selection of top-of-the-range facilities, including a pool and an attentive concierge.

Great location on the riverfront. Values holding up well. One of the best new developments in London. Distinctive, iconic architecture. Area is transforming with new shops and development, Waitrose opposite is superb. On site management improving all the time.” – Anonymous, verified resident at St James’ Riverlight

Brentford Lock West, Waterside Places

Perfect for: To consider for investment

Brentford Lock West has a whole lot going for it. It’s in a beautiful spot, right on the Grand Union Canal, but it’s also surprisingly central – close to Brentford’s major road links and train station which has good London connections. Brentford is currently undergoing a huge transformation, so this is a wise choice for those looking to invest. Phase one sold out quickly and phase two is getting snapped up. More phases are on the way, though.

It’s great. A genuine quiet little oasis set back from the bustle of the M4 and Great West Road. Just a few minutes from the train station and well connected by road, it’s a great little spot to call home.” – Andy J, verified resident at Brentford Lock West
