City living done right

Living in the centre of Cardiff is perfect! There’s so much to do, from eating out to nightlife. Wood Street House is also right next to the Cardiff Central station so anywhere is within reach by train.

Please review your development:

Wood Street House is a great place to live, it is modern throughout and the public areas are decorated to a very high standard. The Gym has all the equipment you need, as well as classes, and is kept very clean. The shared working area is perfect for working remote/hybrid – WSH have recently installed monitors on all of the desks also. The team are great and always helpful.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

A couple things I wish I knew more about are parking options and council tax. Ultimately these haven’t been much of a problem.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The WSH team are always there to help with anything. There is a maintenance portal and the on-site maintenance team help with any issues.

You can’t get much better than living in a high-rise in the center of a city like Cardiff. Having a train station and soon to be a central bus station it makes travelling around without a car excellent. You also have all the necessary amenities right outside the house such as supermarkets, shops and restaurants/bars.

Please review your development:

The building itself is beautiful, both interior and exterior not to mention how new the flats look! The communal spaces such as the lobby, WFH space and gym are very well designed and looked after. There’s also a parcel room which makes it very easy to handle your deliveries even if you’re not home. The staff are excellent and always very friendly and willing to help, no complaints there!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The only thing really is the fact that the utilities are all managed by a 3rd party company which makes it so that you have to be in contact with them to discuss your bills.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Management tens to be quite on top of issues. Anytime we raised any concerns they reply within the same day which is great.

The building design is built for renters and they are amazing

It is located in the city center and its near to the central and queen street station. However, roadworks seem to be happening once every two weeks it can get annoying

Please review your development:

The building design is built for renters and they are amazing. The common area is beautifully arranged and the building management are very friendly and always made sure that the residents solve their problem whenever they arose. The gym however I felt that there could be more dumbbells for heavier weights and a bigger area for the Pilates and abs.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

My window could only open up to half way and which I thought that is the case for every other unit. But that is not the case so I can sometimes have some airflow issues.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They responded quickly and aim to solve the problem as soon as possible.

Lovely accommodation!

It’s a very convenient location to live in with lots of shops, restaurants, entertainment within walking distance. It’s also well connected in terms of transport particularly with Cardiff central station being opposite the building. There is noise from the nearby bars (music, bins), it is in the heart of the city centre. It’s convenient when you move that there’s a loading bay in front of the building.

Please review your development:

The building is new and the design is lovely – very modernistic. Would have liked the bathroom sealant to be more finely done. It’s also nice to see that it’s decorated when there’s holidays like Christmas. In the building there’s a lovely communal space which includes study spaces and a gym with a variety of modern equipment.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There’s going to be a bus station built – this hasn’t caused any disruption to me at present but useful to know. The referencing process in summer was lengthily, hopefully it is more streamlined now. There’s socials every month to meet neighbours which has been nice.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, it’s very helpful to have an on site team 24 hours. Mo in the reception team in particular has been great, he goes above and beyond to help out and helped me settle into the building really well. There’s also portal where you can log maintenance requests too.
