We relocated and brought our business from the Hampshire countryside 18 months ago and have been very happy with all aspects of the St Georges Fulham Reach development. After 30 years in the sticks you suddenly realize what you have been missing… We love the multi-national diversity of the residents and have made some good friends. Visiting friends and family have been very impressed.” – John, resident at Fulham Reach

Hammersmith Bridge at night

Where is Hammersmith?

W6 lies on the Middlesex bank of the Thames in west London. It stretches north from the river with Chiswick to the west, Shepherd’s Bush and Holland Park to the north, and Kensington, Earl’s Court and Fulham to the east.

Developments in Hammersmith W6

Hammersmith is one of the most affluent areas of London; recent figures show that its residents enjoy some of the largest disposable incomes in the UK. So it’s not surprising that the quality of recent developments in W6 are superb.

Two of the best are Berkeley Group’s Fulham Reach and Mount Anvil’s Queen’s Wharf. Both of which sit just west of Grade-II listed Hammersmith Bridge, and have stunning river views. The original River Café is a few minutes stroll along the Thames Path.

As you’d expect, the Fulham Reach apartments enjoy a comprehensive range of excellent facilities including a 24 hour concierge service, a vibrant selection of cafes, bars and restaurants, a fitness centre, pilates studio and even a maze. And if watching rowing outside your windows inspires you to take to the water, uniquely, the development also incorporates a brand new rowing club. Others may prefer to let the wind do the work at London Corinthian Sailing Club; on the other side of Hammersmith Bridge.

The walls are very solid and so we have never heard our neighbours, and they tell me they have never heard my kids screaming, which is pretty amazing. The whole flat has air cooling and heating; which works well and comes on very quickly. Therefore, no radiators for toddlers to burn themselves on. Also, the windows are very safe for kids, only opening a few inches (as we live a few floors up) and the terrace door are big and solid and our toddlers can’t open these. Also, my husband travels sometimes, and I feel very safe here with my kids. As well as the security doors and porters, we also have a control panel which allows you to talk to the concierge, which is very comforting.” – verified resident at Fulham Reach

New flats in Hammersmith

Even more developments…

Only completed in 2017, Queen’ Wharf has already won several awards for its clever combination of new-build residential living spaces. With a redevelopment of the famous Riverside Studios. It is rated one of the best places to live and rent in Hammersmith. No one will ever be at a loss for what to do with an irresistible selection of theatre, dance, comedy and art on their doorstep. In a building that once housed the UL’s first purpose-built television facility and where early episodes of classics from Dr Who to Blue Peter were filmed.

Residents using rooftop yoga terrace or relaxing in their homes don’t need to worry about noise from the entertainment complex, though; special construction techniques have ensured that there’s complete ‘acoustic separation’ between the two.

River Cafe and Plum Cafe – two vastly different cafes with very different price points but just two wonderful examples of some great local places on my doorstep! I love renting here, I couldn’t get a flat with a river view but the location close to Hammersmith and the river is perfect and gives me the space and everything I need.” – verified resident at Queen’s Wharf.

Hammersmith Bridge

Transport information

The A4 Great West Road runs straight through Hammersmith, making it popular with those who commute out the M4 corridor; but also want to be close in to City offices and the leisure and shopping available in the West End. On top of that, you can be at Heathrow in half an hour.

W6 is well-served by the tube too with several Zone 2 stations on the Piccadilly, District, Circle and Hammersmith & City lines, giving residents quick, direct access to an extremely wide area of central London destinations. Even Canary Wharf is only 33 minutes away.

This development has really surprised us. We lived in Kensington Green (W8) before, and for the same rent we are getting 50% more space, with fantastic facilities, and a brand new, high spec apartment with great views of the river. It makes for a compelling alternative to more central, condensed living. – verified resident at Fulham Reach

While Hammersmith is no longer the industrial centre; it was in the thirteenth century when its ‘hammer smithy’ or forge first gave the area its name. But, it’s none the less thriving for that change, and doubtless a little bit quieter too. Except on Boat Race day of course!

Great location. The rest is terrible.

Review Date Sep 2022

Leakage in eletrict box.
Crazy neighbours jumping up and down (some secondary school kids)
Super high heating bill due to the public area is always heated even in summer.
Stolen parcel every month.

if you join the Facebook group of us you will know I’m telling the truth

Please review your development:

terrible house.
No privacy. You smell neighbour smoking and cooking and watching TV.
Walls are super thin.
Leakage in public area very often.
The doors are not able to be properly closed.
The management company centric say they are working on it.
But every time it’s fixed, it breaks in one week. Thus a lot of issues with stolen parcel.
If you call the metropolitant police and tell them you are Gooch house, they knew where you leave because we are famous in their system.
How do I know? I made my first 999 call in my first month here and they told me 🙂

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Heating is terribly high.
The neighbours are not the worst, but some teen are crazy.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

terrible
very slow response.

Non existent management but great area!

The area is great to live, with lidl, sainsburys, wilkos and ikea very close by.
Ravenscourt park is also a short walk which is great for dog owners!

Please review your development:

Building management is non existent… we have had to get the council involved with issues we have been facing.
There have been tenants who have been fined as the building management neglected to get the doors fixed so parcels were stolen and littered the streets.
The actual flat is lovely to live in (apart from issues we have had to get the council involved in). But the flat is probably only nice due to the fact that we do not rent directly from the building management

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Wish I would have known how awful the building management was

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Absolutely not. As mentioned, we have had to get the council involved in issues that they have ignored for several months

Awful! Worst building ever

Review Date Sep 2022

The area is good, Hammersmith is nice place to live and the riverside is great.

Please review your development:

The building is just 10 years old and has seen (and still see) the longest number of issues, from water leaks, smell in the corridors, super high termostatare in the corridors during all year (in summer feels like 50 degrees), lift broken multiple times, mice’s getting in flats, continuous stealing of delivery packages in the hall, broken glass of the main door, bikes stolen multiple times… do I need to keep going??
In one word, don’t even think one second this build is good, because it’s NOT.
Stay away

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Just do not move here

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very bad, takes ages to get something fixed.
Lift broken for multiple weeks, access to the building broken , leakages, bike stolen etc

Unique Riverside Development

Verified Resident
Verified Resident
Review Date Oct 2021

There are cafes, Michelin restaurants, gym, rowing club, and of course Riverside Studio at the door step. The south-west facing riverside walk leading to the reopened Hammersmith Bridge really carries the magic during the day and night. Hammersmith Station provides access to 4 tube lines and bus routes and is only 5 minutes away.

Hammersmith roundabout can be pretty busy, and larger supermarkets are 10 min walk on Fulham Palace Road although there is a Tesco Express nearby that opens until 10pm.

Please review your development:

Having viewed many properties around Fulham and Canary Wharf, I’ve finally found Queen’s Wharf. This development has a sense of understated luxury, modern but not dull, and is overall very well designed. Common area is of very high standards too. It is nice that north-east facing flats enjoy morning sun in summer with a view of a small garden despite having no direct river view. The development has no onsite gym & swimming pool etc (hence lower service charge) but there are many choices around. There is comfort cooling & heating throughout the building.

The only issues I’m aware of include the door to the rooftop and doors of lifts and it seems to take very long for them to be solved. The onsite management team made sure the development is always clean and concierge is really outstanding 24/7.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

rowing boats frequent this part of river and certainly bring action to the river life.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

no particular issues had raised during conveyance.
