Fulham

Fancy Fulham is in the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, flanked by upmarket Kensington & Chelsea. And while it shares its neighbour’s gorgeous terraced townhouses and designer shopping, this pocket of West London is edgier and more affordable. Set on the north bank of the River Thames, Fulham is a slower-paced slice of the city, where residents enjoy leafy walks and cosy roasts in authentic boozers. It’s a peaceful haven for professionals, and a great launchpad for commuting. Nearby Hammersmith, for example, is the HQ of major corporations like Disney and L’Oréal. Things to do in Fulham

Fulham brags one of London’s best-looking after-dark scenes, with immaculate, bloom-cloaked gastropubs and also chic wine bars. The adjacent Hammersmith area has great live music venues, which welcome a mix of well-known and up-and-coming artists. The most iconic is undoubtedly the Apollo, an entertainment institution that’s welcomed everyone from Paul Weller to Russell Brand to its stage.

Shopping in SW6 is a major pastime. Fulham has a handful of shopping centres, including Fulham Broadway and Kings Mall. There’s no competing with nearby Westfields, though – this colossal Shepherds Bush mall has around 250 classic department stores, high street brands and designer boutiques. Alternatively, there’s pretty Brackenbury Village for established independents with character.

Elsewhere, Fulham boasts top private schools and plentiful parkland. A family favourite is Bishops Park, which counts tennis courts, a sculpture garden and a man-made beach among its facilities. Nearby Hammersmith’s waterfront Furnivall Gardens is another popular spot – especially for picnics and sunbathing in the summer months.

Property in Fulham

Lillie Square, a Capital and Counties Properties project with 800 units, provides a brilliant variety of floorplans, including studios, one to three-bed apartments, swish penthouse and also family townhouses.

The handover quality of the apartment is by far best in the league. The clubhouse is extraordinary, beautiful indoor swimming pool and great staff.” – LPPY, verified resident of Lillie Square

The development itself feels “hotel luxury standard” in terms of the exterior design and high-quality interior fit out specification. For me the Clubhouse with wi-fi/coffee areas/gym/pool/cinema/treatment rooms & private dinning set Lillie Square apart from anything else that I have seen. My 2-year-old daughter loves the pool and baby play areas when the weather doesn’t allow us to explore outside, which is lifesaving sometimes!” – Ben Sturnham, owner at Lillie Square

Chelsea FC fans should consider Brompton Park Crescent, a Barratt Homes property just five minutes’ walk from Stamford Bridge. This gated development features stylish apartments with a more traditional exterior, characterised by beautiful wrought-iron balconies. Rated one of the best places to live in Fulham.

“The build quality is really good, walls are built well so I can hang pictures and place multiple wardrobes around, I also like the design of the property it looks really neat.” – Anon, private tenant of Brompton Park Crescent

Pretty street with painted houses

Even more…

Also flaunting a less contemporary façade is Bishops Gate,  58-unit property from Meyer Homes, with a central location on Fulham High Street. Rated a great place to rent in Fulham.

I’m really happy with my flat! It’s exceeded my expectations as its been built with high standards. Staff and building management are great, they deal with issues quickly and properly. The flat is big enough and has been fitted with high quality appliances.” – Anon, verified resident at  Bishops Gate

Those drawn to waterside living should look to Chelsea Creek, a well thought-out development by St George, with a series of creeks flowing through its centre. It’s home to studios, apartments and also penthouses just a stone’s throw from glamorous King’s Road.

Perfect city life

Review Date Feb 2021

What i love about this development is the location – as it is local to train stations, other modes of transport and you have everything you need within walking distance! Which is perfect for me -clean, environment.

Please review your development:

Lillie Square is the perfect example of a great city complex – who anyone would love to live at with the luxury facilities such as pool and jacuzzi + even a cinema room! Also, the service from staff is great, from my experience so far. Communication with landlord is also clear on both sides.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing I could say to anyone thinking of moving here is to consider the busy lifestyle haha.

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature of my home is the pool as it is my form of relaxing.

Lillie Square Development

Review Date Jan 2021

Transport is good
There are buses and trains close as well as parking
There are nearby shops but the area isn’t too safe
Good development and it’s improving but still a long way to go

Please review your development:

The building is very modern and beautiful. There is an amazing clubhouse and gym which I really appreciate. However, the staff are not the best. They pressure you a lot tend to be somewhat disrespectful. This too is starting to improve but still some way to go. Very close to an ambulance station so good in case there are bad worst case scenarios.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The area is quite loud, which I wish I’d known beforehand. Knowing this, I would still have moved in since it is beautiful, but it sometimes is concerning, especially around 9am on weekdays.

Convenient and lovely amenities

Very convenient transport links – quick commute to central. Good range of shops within walking distance.

Please review your development:

Communal areas are well designed and well maintained – amazing pool & gym. Small design flaws in the apartments but for the most part well designed, lovely simple modern aesthetic and high grade white goods. However unable to switch utility providers etc as it’s communal so very high cost.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Nothing

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Sink in the bathroom is poorly designed & utilities costs are high due to fixing.
