Enjoying my time in East London
Overall, I really like the area. There’s a lot to do but I’m also more connected to green areas so having Mile End Park and Victoria Park nearby is a delight. In terms of nightlife is not the best but I actually prefer it that way. It usually means less anti-social behaviour and more quiet time. It’s very well connected due to being relatively close to Whitechapel and Stratford which are good connection hubs. I’ve been living here for almost 3 years now and probably the only downside for me in terms of the area is the bin collections which aren’t the most reliable.

The building has a modern feel and everything seems well put together. When I compare there to the horror stories I hear about London’s rental market, I feel blessed. Emelie who basically runs the show on behalf of Fizzy is incredibly helpful. Always very communicative and caring. She has always ensured a solution is found to an issue even if these are things which aren’t technically on her side. In a way, this compensates for whenever we have to rely on L&Q to fix things. As far as I understood they run maintenance for whole block and are the most unreliable company I have ever seen. They delay or don’t show up to fix things most often than not. Basically, if something falls under Fizzy it will get sorted swiftly, if it’s L&Q…brace.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
There’s a mosque being built right next to the building. It might scare you at first but I live on the third floor and work from home. It has never been an issue that couldn’t be solved by closing the windows. Apart from the scaffolding is less noisy than most pubs I’ve been to. However, I heard complaints from another tenant so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
The second thing is that I couldn’t return a piece of furniture. They furnish the place but if you want to not have a coffee table or an arm chair they can’t take it. It’s all or nothing. I must say I don’t recall if I learn about this just before move in or right after.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Emelie has always been quick to reply, transparent on who’s going to be fixing something and scheduling the work that needs to be done.
